During the summer months, Jellie Park is a popular destination for families. The outdoor summer pools, hydroslides, kids' splash deck, diving boards and BBQ picnic areas are perfect for a fun day out for the whole whānau.

Our indoor pools and facilities operate year-round and include:
- Recreation pool - Eight-lane 25-metre pool (1m to 1.4m deep)
- Sport pool - Eight-lane 25-metre pool (2m deep)
- Teach pool
- Toddlers pool
- Spa pool - Ages 3+. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver within the spa. Max ratio 1 adult with 2 children.
- Sauna and steam room - Ages 16+

Outdoor summer pools and facilities will open from Saturday 15 November 2025 until Sunday 29 March 2026 (inclusive):
- Recreation pool - Seven-lane 50-metre pool plus a beach area
- Dive well - three-metre deep dive well with one-metre and three-metre springboards
- Hydroslides - two speed chutes and a twister
- BBQs - free to hire

Wipe out! Beat the boredom and treat your tamariki to the hydroslides at Jellie Park.
With a looping indoor hydroslide and three outdoor summer hydroslides, you'll find something for every thrill seeker.

Conditions of entry
- Pre-schoolers aged under five years are not allowed on the hydroslides.
- Children between the ages of five and seven (inclusive) must be wearing a purple wristband and actively supervised by a responsible caregiver aged 16 years or older, who is to be within the pool area at all times and able to provide immediate assistance.
- Children aged 8 to 11 years (inclusive) must have a responsible caregiver 16 years or older on site unless they are in a supervised programme, such as swimming lessons. If they are swimming before or after their programme, their caregiver must be onsite.
- You must be at least 102cm tall to use the hydroslides.

Swimsmart learn to swim lessons teaches children and adults essential water safety skills and confidence in the water.
Lessons for children are taught during the school terms, with the option to also enrol in the school holiday programme.
Adult lessons are free for Pool and Gym & Pool members.

You can travel to Jellie Park on bus number 120, 29 and the Orbiter.
- Bus number 120 stops on Clyde Road near Aorangi Road and it is a 630 metre or 7 minute walk from the bus stop to Jellie Park. View bus 120 timetable.
- Bus number 29 stops on Memorial Avenue and it is a 530 metre or 7 minute walk from the bus stop to Jellie Park. View bus 29 timetable.
- The Orbiter bus stops on Greers Road near Burnside High School and it is a 650 metre or 9 minute walk from the bus stop to Jellie Park. View Orbiter timetable.
Travel by bikeJellie Park has 70 bike stands near the main entrance.
Travel by carThere is a carpark in front of the building and on Ilam Road.
Wheelchair accessEntry to Jellie Park is a flat entrance and has two sets of automatic doors.
Poolside
- Wet wheelchairs are stored in the first aid room. Please as a staff member if you would like to use one.
- Pool access is through an entrance gate. Please ask staff to help you if you need assistance.
- There is a mobile hoist with a chair that you can use for all of the pools. This is available through self-transfer or carer assistance.
- The outdoor pool and teach pool have ramp access.
- The recreation pool, sports pool and toddlers pool have step access. The recreation pool has a handrail on the left side.
- The steam room and sauna are accessible, however assistance may be needed with the doors.
Accessible changing roomsPoolside change village
- Six large changing cubicles are available with a shower and bench seats.
- A large changing room is available with a manual adjustable bed, shower with left handrail and toilet with left handrail. No hoist is available in this changing room.
- A smaller changing room is available. The shower has a left handrail and the toilet has a left handrail.
Please bring your own slings for the hoist, they are not available to hire.

Information for carersThe role of the caregiver varies based on individual needs, however you may need to:
- Assist with communication.
- Assist with personal care.
- Help the person you are caring for move through the centre and exiting the centre in an emergency.
- Assist in the pool or actively monitor from poolside.
- Assist in the gym.
Special requirementsIf you have special requirements, please speak to one of our events team for additional assistance.
You are welcome to leave your mobility equipment on poolside as long as it is not blocking a walkway or emergency exit. Lifeguards can help you to find a suitable location if needed and can bring your equipment to you when you are ready to leave the pool.
Guide dogs are welcome to be on poolside.

Quiet timesIf you would like to visit Jellie Park when it is quiet, we recommend coming between 9am and 2.30pm on weekdays.
Weekends are usually busy all day however this does change depending on the season.

Keep our pools safe
We want everyone to be able to enjoy the pools and have a safe and enjoyable experience.
It’s important that caregivers take extra care when accompanying a child to the pool.

Supervision of children in the pool
- Children under five years old must be within arm’s reach and under constant supervision by a responsible caregiver aged 16 years or older in the pool at all times, who is wearing an orange wristband.
- Children between the ages of five and seven (inclusive) must be wearing a purple wristband and actively supervised by a responsible caregiver aged 16 years or older, who is to be within the pool area at all times and able to provide immediate assistance.
