Whether you're looking to gather with friends for a friendly match, train with your team, or host an exhibition, market or sports event, Christchurch Recreation and Sport offers an extensive range of court hire locations and services.
Depending on the facility, you can hire courts for basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton, pickleball, korfball, futsal, and more! If you’ve got something different in mind, let us know, and we’ll see what we can do.
The court hire price includes all the essentials like nets, hoops, and scoreboards. Need extra gear like balls or bats? No worries – you can hire those for a bit extra.

Cowles Stadium
Cowles Stadium is the equivalent size of two basketball or netball sized courts with a permanent grandstand that seats 480. There is a multipurpose room and kitchen available to hire.

Graham Condon
Graham Condon has two separated sport halls, each the equivalent size of one basketball or netball sized court.
Court One has permanent tiered bench seating along one length that seats up to 60.

Pioneer Stadium
Pioneer Stadium is the equivalent size of three basketball or netball sized courts.
Portable bleacher seating, multipurpose rooms and a kitchen are available to hire.

Take your basketball training session to the next level with our new basketball shooting machines available for hire at Pioneer and Cowles Stadium!
A unique piece of equipment to aid player development in scoring goals; less time spent chasing balls scattered around the court means more time spent focusing on getting that perfect shot.

Featuring an intuitive touch-screen interface which users can select how they wish to operate it. Balls are able to be thrown to different spots to encourage movement and variation, as well as offering interactive workouts and instant analytics on performance.
Basketball shooting machines can be hired with full or half court basketball bookings (the cost of hire of the machine is additional to your court hire fees). Machine hire - $15 per 30 minutes, 5 balls included.
