There are two basketball/netball sized courts available for hire for sports trainings, tournaments, events, expos and other casual use. Cowles is also home to Tumbletimes.
- 1,296 square metres of sprung timber floor
- 486 permanent seats (and room for 532 more)
- Basketball, netball and volleyball courts
- Kitchen and meeting/recreation room
- Available for private function/event
- On-site car park
Community and commercial prices are available. Confirmed bookings may require a Health and Safety plan, and are subject to our terms, conditions and cancellation policy.

Take your basketball training session to the next level with basketball shooting machines available for hire at Pioneer and Cowles Stadium!
A unique piece of equipment to aid player development in scoring goals - less time spent chasing balls scattered around the court means more time spent focusing on getting that perfect shot.
Featuring an intuitive touch-screen interface which users can select how they wish to operate it. Balls are able to be thrown to different spots to encourage movement and variation, as well as offering interactive workouts and instant analytics on performance.
Basketball shooting machines can be hired as an extra with full or half court basketball bookings (the cost of hire of the machine is additional to your court hire fees). Machine hire - $15 per 30 minutes, 5 balls included.
For team/club trainings, package deals are available.

With bike stands near the entrance to the stadium, biking to Cowles Stadium is an easy option and a great option to get active.
Travel by busCatching the bus to Cowles Stadium is a breeze with a bus stop right near the main road entrance to the centre. It's a convenient option and a great way for rangatahi and whānau, especially during busy times or school holidays.
You can travel to Cowles Stadium on bus number 5. The bus stop is on Pages Road near Ottawa Road, and is 220 metre or a 3 minute walk to the stadium. View bus 5 timetable
Travel by carThere is a carpark directly outside Cowles Stadium. Access is off Pages Road.
Wheelchair accessEntry to Cowles Stadium is a low gradient ramp. Other doorways are level entry.
There is limited wheelchair seating at the end of the bleachers and this is based on event organiser requirements.
Accessible carparksCowles Stadium has two accessible car parks located at the front entrance (40 metres).
Accessible changing roomsCowles Stadium has two accessible changing rooms. Both include a shower, bench and toilet.
Accessible toiletsCowles Stadium has two accessible toilets. The accessible toilet in the womens' toilets has a baby change table.
Hearing loopCowles Stadium does not have hearing loop.
